The U.S. Chamber of Commerce held a New Business Summit with government and industry leaders from both the U.S and Iraq, intended to finalize commitment to over $60 Billion in new deals. Bob Luhrs (President) and Randy Elson (Executive VP Operations) of Salof were in attendance and left the very positive event with a signed initial commitment regarding Salof's involvement in potential future projects.

CCS, or Carbon Capture and Storage, encompasses various methods to prevent CO₂, produced during energy generation or as a byproduct of industrial activities, from entering the atmosphere. If required it can also be captured directly from the air through Direct Air Capture (DAC). This is the capture component of CCS / CCUS. After capturing carbon dioxide, it can be managed in several ways. Carbon storage involves injecting CO₂ into the ground, effectively removing it permanently.

Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) is designed to capture Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) from bio-ethanol production facilities with the intent of permanent storage of the captured CO₂ or further treatment and use in other industries.
