Carbon Capture, Liquefaction & Use or Storage
Increases in human presence, activity and our link to increasing Carbon Dioxide levels in the atmosphere are a global concern. Controlling carbon footprint has become a priority. Salof Limited Inc., has long
been committed to the safe, clean, sustainable provision of turnkey equipment designed to allow our
customers to efficiently capture, process and use / or sequester Carbon Dioxide. With over 168
operating plants worldwide our equipment has played an important role in the processing of over
500MM metric tons of Carbon Dioxide.

We believe that the effective management of Carbon Dioxide balance in the atmosphere is fundamental to life and health on our planet, and this is reflected in our continued focus on reducing our business footprint through the deployment of appropriate design / technology. With fifty years experience, Salof has delivered solutions for many carbon dioxide applications such as:

-
Biomass purification.
-
Energy production waste gas, (pre-post) burning.
-
Food and Beverage consumption.
-
Industrial Gases and Scientific applications (High purity /liquefied).

Scope of Equipment Supply*:
Our Carbon Capture & Storage equipment can be designed to capture, process/purify and liquefy up to 97% of available Carbon Dioxide at (up to) 99.9% purity, then returning the processed gas or liquid back to our client for their use / storage. Our general capacity for processing Carbon Dioxide ranges from 3 TPD to 2000 MTPD of Carbon Dioxide.

*Subject to detailed technical review of client operating conditions.

Natural Gas Processing & Liquefaction - LNG

Natural gas is a relatively cheap, plentiful, accessible and comparatively clean source of fuel that in
recent years has become the global fuel of choice for base-load production of electrical energy.
This requires significant capital investment centering for the most part around large delivery hubs
located close to the ocean. These large (traditional) delivery centers attract attention regarding
climate change and (for example) global commitments to cut green house gas emissions by as
much as 45% by 2030.

There is considered opinion that smaller scale, application specific, LNG investments will be
required for the foreseeable future, as a ‘bridge fuel’. Salof has for many years specialized in the
delivery of 'Scalable LNG Facilities' that provide more economical, decentralized energy
solutions for a number of key applications such as:

-
Remote community power supplies
-
Truckable (non-pipeline) supply applications
-
On demand (minimum local storage) applications
-
LNG Bunkering operations
-
Future road transport infrastructure applications
-
Other bridge fuel applications
Scope of Equipment Supply*:
Salof has twenty (20) small to medium scale LNG plants operating globally, Salof's
approach is to be mindful of the customers needs while focusing on minimizing the
complexity of design and maximizing modular construction in order to provide:

-
Simplicity of installation and operation
-
Competitive Total Cost of Ownership
The size range of LNG equipment provided by Salof is 0.05 MTPA up to 0.25 MTPA.

*Large storage tanks, marine loading arms and construction / installation are not normally part of Salof supply.

Heavy Hydrocarbon Removal - HHR
Pipeline-quality feed gas for HHR projects can present a unique problem, namely; that the
'Heavy Hydrocarbons (C3+)' can cause fouling and even degradation of plant catalyst.
Salof Utilizes a simplified approach when designing the HHR system and ensures
each equipment design is customized to fully comply with customer
requirements.

Our simplified approach makes the commissioning, startup and operation of
the HRR system simple and robust.

Process Refrigeration (Low Temp)
Depending on the client needs such as capacity of the refrigeration system, specificity of refrigerant
etc. different systems such as single-stage vapor compression, multi-stage vapor compression,
cascade, auto-cascade and air refrigeration cycles are presented and discussed. Further
engineering / analysis is then required in order to optimize the design, lifecycle costs.
Our experience is the Liquefaction technology is quite varied (instance specific) with applications limited to very specific industrial, scientific, medical and / or research applications. Examples are Nitrous Oxide and Ethylene Liquefaction plants.
Due to the nature of this Equipment and the criticality of engineering design we recommend that early engineering (study) is included in Salof’s supply.
